OBITUARY INFORMATION: Julie Ann Sly

Julie Ann Sly was born the daughter of Gordon and Letha (Muhr) Gibbs on Saturday, July 2, 1960 in Horton, Kansas.

Julie lived in Horton, Kansas with her family until the age of six when her family moved to Newberg in 1966.  She attended the local schools, graduating from Newberg High School.  In 1977 Julie married Roger Sly, he passed away in 2004.  She was a caregiver and helped others for many years.  Julie tried her hand in working for an insurance company for a short period of time but she knew that she needed to go back to the industry that she enjoyed the most which was care giving.  She appreciated listening to Country music, reading books and watching movies.  Julie was an avid pet lover.

On Saturday, September 15, 2012, Julie Ann Sly died at a local care facility when she was fifty two years, two months and thirteen days of age.

Surviving and left to honor her life are: Her father, Gordon Gibbs of Newberg; two sons, Ricky Sly of Anchorage, Alaska and Shane Cooper of Portland; her daughter, Lisa Dailey of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her brother Dale Gibbs of Newberg; two sisters, Penny Harris of Newberg and Amy Buckman of Oregon City; five grandchildren and those who have come to know and appreciate her where she has lived and worked.  Her mother L. Darlene Gibbs preceded her in death.

Her Graveside Service will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Noble Pioneer Cemetery, Newberg.  Arrangements are in the care of Attrell's Newberg Funeral Chapel, a Golden Rule Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made at www.attrells.com
